Micah is a musician, producer, and recording engineer whose work centres on careful listening, musical feel, and the practical realities of recording sound. His practice draws from a deep engagement with analog recording, alongside a pragmatic respect for digital techniques as an integral part of modern production. This approach has led to a wide range of recording situations and environments, and to a reputation for being able to work comfortably in whatever space the music requires.

Much of this approach has developed through years of hands-on work and an ongoing mentorship with producer and studio designer Rob Fraboni (Bob Dylan, The Band, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, The Last Waltz, Shangri-La Studio). This influence is reflected in an emphasis on signal flow, performance, and capturing sounds as they are, rather than shaping them excessively after the fact.

Micah has performed and worked as a recording engineer, mixer, and producer with artists including Kacy Lee Anderson, The Waverley Pickers, Kacy & Clayton (with Marlon Williams), Sylvie, Zoon, TOFUSMELL, Blue Moon Marquis, Skinny Dyck, FONTINE, Mise En Scene, Bobby Dove, Richard Inman and Michael Dubue (Hilotrons), as well as on his own project, The Secret Beach.

In 2025, Micah was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards for We Were Born Here, What’s Your Excuse, a record produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered at The Secret Beach Studio.
